WebJul 15, 2014 · Riding a train for 12 hours can be a boring thing. Not so with the Alaska Railroad from Anchorage to Fairbanks. Sitting back and enjoying the scenery from a comfortable Gold Star domed car for 360 miles was a different way to travel for us. I would recommend paying the extra money for the Gold Star Service.
